The Journey

SEO & CRO Journey began as a personal challenge to learn digital marketing from the ground up.

Rather than relying solely on courses or theory, I chose to build websites, publish content, analyse data and run real marketing experiments.

The articles below document that progression; from learning the fundamentals of SEO and CRO to developing a broader understanding of marketing strategy, audience behaviour and experimentation.

Each chapter represents a stage in that journey and the lessons that shaped how I think today.

Chapter 1 — Building the Foundations

Learning starts with doing.

These articles document the beginning of my journey; building my first website, learning the fundamentals of SEO, and discovering that digital marketing is as much about experimentation as it is about theory.

Chapter 2 — Learning SEO & CRO

Traffic alone isn’t enough.

As my understanding of SEO developed, my attention naturally shifted towards conversion rate optimisation and user behaviour.

This chapter explores the relationship between attracting visitors and creating better experiences once they arrive.

Chapter 3 — From Traffic to Behaviour

Marketing became bigger than search.

This stage marked a shift from learning individual disciplines to understanding how websites, content, distribution and audience behaviour work together as part of a broader marketing system.

Chapter 4 — Building & Testing a Marketing System

Theory became practice.

Rather than relying on case studies or assumptions, I built The Frictionless Man as a live marketing experiment to test ideas around strategy, audience alignment, analytics, content distribution and behavioural insights.

Chapter 5 — Developing a Strategic View

Connecting the pieces together.

These articles reflect how my thinking evolved beyond SEO and CRO into broader marketing strategy; using data, experimentation and customer understanding to make better marketing decisions.
